New Project / Parts Car / Money Pit

Post by greg »

Well I'm all excited because I just picked up what may well be the bargain of the year:

Trading Post wrote:Suzuki Sierra 1989 black, new softtop roof, new carpet, 4 new tyres, no reg, ready for RWC, $1 Million ono

I've just done the security check and all came up well.

Now i just have to work out:
a. Where to put it
b. What to do with it
c. What to tell my girlfriend

Okay - so how good a nick could it be in you ask? Real good nick.

I think we should do a poll of mods for the car and whatever comes out on top greg has to do. What a cool vehicle it would be because we all know anything decided by a commitee has to be good :D

1.SPOA
2. Lots of Chrome
3. Madd asz snorkal adn bulbar :finger:
4. 235 ATs
5. no windscreen but full doors
6. chrome hub caps
7. sway bar on
8. shortened shackles
9. red paint work cause we know all the cool zuks are red
10. mut be driven in the cold weather without whinging

Quick Update:

Looks like i am going to keep the new zook as a daily driver... here's the build up plan so far:

Vitara EFI
Sierra 5 Speed
1L x-fer case (for that super low gear high range  )
31's, or maybe, 33x14 boggers on some chrome rims

Use the sierra tank and just run a surge tank

Suspension will be stock, might sneak in a body lift to clear those tyres.

No stereo.

Engineered with the biggest tyre i can get under it

No front drive shaft - to make sure i don't get tempted to run it offroad (at least for a while)

But before all of that stuff happens - i guess i should get it road worthied and rego'd :)

p.s. it's disgraceful to see that even though i have only been away for a week, grimbo is cocking up enough courage to claim to be a wheeler again - you folks should really clamp down on that sort of behaviour :?

Perhaps we could perform a backyard blitz type of transformation on Gregs new black zook. Just think of the look on his face when it is uncovered.

"Shazam"

Your new daily driver with 38"s, SPOA, body lift, no roof, no doors, no screen (thats for you big steve), roll cage, no flares, an engine bigger than the one on my grandmothers sewing machine (sorry, too easy i know), rockhoppers.........

This weeks Update

A late spanner spinning session last night has seen the completion of the king pin bearing (one of the RWC requirements).

Just need to replace the heater core on Saturday Arvo for the RWC check on Mondays.

All things going to plan he hopes to have it at our next club meeting (next wednesday)

Steve
