If anyone has one what was the aprox. cost of the unit and/or geting it installed.

the endless air is around 6cfm and much faster than any elec compressor.
[arb etc are about 8 times slower]
It comes with mounting brackets for an extra $180 depending on the vehicle your mounting to, and are a great unit.

I have one fitted to a GQ diesal 4.2 great compressor I have fitted a tank and now use the unit to run a 1/2 impact gun the compressor cost me $350 great price but the mounting kit was I think $200 it was a waste of money for 2 little brakets and a v belt fit it your self wasnt that hard the only thing to watch out for is that at any decent amount of useage the outlet from the compressor gets very hot im now on my third hose this one is stainless braided hose that runs a teflon inner core its the only way to go with hydraulic fittings for the high presures

Have you got any pics of it in?
I want to get one because the York i have is to big to fit in and the GQ is fairly short on space.

@ what rpm will the york pump 10cfm???
And most early volvo's had the york, easy to pick, it has a cyl sticking up from the crank case, compared to a cylindrical like a SD 508 or similar.

Geez, Ive used a home built one of these for years. I use a Sanden 508 or similar, pumping through an oil cooler then a watertrap, then into a pressure tank. System is entirely automatic, as I use a high/low pressure switch to activate the compressor. I built the mounts myself, cause standard air con mounts for a Rocky cost a mint. Only maintenance needed is a shot of oil through the system every couple of months. It will beat the crap out of ANY electric compressor, gives me about 110psi at the tank, which I use for my airhorns, and inflates 9R or 10R tyres from 12psi to 30psi in about 30 secs each. I usually have people lined up to use it for reinflation after trips to the beach. There is usually another group of people peering into the engine bay. Someone on a previous post in this string mentioned hoses blowing out cause of the heat. Use a standard air conditioner delivery hose. They have an aluminium fitting at the compressor which A, dissipates a lot of heat, and B, takes the pressure. I then connect normal high pressure oil line through a fitting at the end of the air con hose. This hasnt blown out on me for years.
Go for it, Dont even consider any electric compressor till you have checked out an engine driven compressor.
Cheers
