Cleaning out the cowl on a GQ

Post by madmel »

Does anybody know if there is an easy way to clean out the cowl area on a GQ.
The grill in front of the windscreen is full of leaves and dirt etc.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Unfortunatly there is no real easy way. When removing the windscreen wiper arms to remove the grill, use some anti-sieze grease on re-assembly to prevent electrolysis. Carefull when removing the plastic retaining screws. Its also a good idea, to remove the blower motor and reach in behind to fresh air intake vent and remove all the leaves built up there as well as you cant reach this spot with the grill removed.

Yep for sure nick. I agree. After doing 2 cab change overs I know how much builds up behind the blower motor and even the ducting running across the inside of the cab/firewall ( the last cigarette lighter I found 3 weeks ago is still working)
