gas carby
gas carby
going straight gas on my GQ- $1.05 is just tooooo much for 22litres per 100 kays- Whats a good gas carby and what are they worth? Or should i stick to petrol carby on gas. And it won't be going into the outback so range isn't a prob.
Short GQ, Petrol, Turbo.

My GQ is on petrol and Gas but it is tuned for Gas so petrol runs very out of tune but it goes like a rocket on gas so I have removed the petrl tank and sold it.I run a morries upper lube kit which runs into the carby and it makes an awsome difference. It will run upside down on Gas.Very cheap to fill and run.I have been in one comp and everybody else was running diesles or turbo diesiels and I got alot off comments off how I had the quickest car there.Only mod to engine is extractors.Cheers.

God of Magnificant Ideas!
you will get increased horsepower and economy from a straight LPG carby, and yes thats an increase over petrol horsepower and ecconomy figures too !!
The cost of such a unit depends on new versus 2nd hand so to give you an idea ..... a 2nd hand 425 straight LPG carby to suit a big6 or small V8 goes for around the $150 mark.
In all reality you only need a set of butterflys between the inlet manifold and the mixer, everything else inbetweeen simply retards the gasses flow which decreases power and ecconomy.

gas carby
mate i had dual fuel on mine and it was great. started on fuel and just drove on gas. tank of fuel would last months. and the performance was excellent especialy offf road. and to let you no i have the a mixer for the GQ carby that i would love to get rid of. it all works pm for more info if you want
I would stay with gas carby cause if you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere or you have a gas problem (never happens) you always can change to petrol.....I am paying through certain places on my body to keep dual fuel and run a turbo setup....even thought about twin jew juice tanks and all, but have decided to go dual fuel - it is costing around three grand more to do it that way - but hey avgas comes in liquid form!!!!!

I'm sure it just needs to be better tuned for gas, anyone know of any good gas tuners around Sydney?
The GASMAN at alexandria seem to be ok in my opinion. Ive had a few issues with my GQs lpg system when I first bought the car a year ago, they helped me heaps. Other places I have checked out have no idea about GQs at all.
