Good Price for a 110 County?

Post by mud13s »

Hi,

Got a MQ Patrol but always wanted a Land Rover must be the pommy in me coming out!

There is a 1990 110 County for sale near me for $5400

It's the V8 and done approx 240,000Km, the gearbox has been reconned within 50,000 and not long had a new exhaust and extractors throughout, being a 1990 model it comes with P/S and Air-con (needs re-gassing) as standard

There is rust up the passenger side in the pillar below the windscreen goes a fair way down and right through, there is also other rust in the firewall

How much would it cost to get the firewall replaced?, and how hard would it be to do it myself. Is where the windscreen bolts onto part of the firewall?

Is $5400 too much for the vehicle with the rust as it is? if so how much to offer, I heard him be offered $4000 but he wants more than that

Any info much appreciated,

Paul

For $5400, if it is half decent i would buy it, the rust areas would be easy to repair and most of the steel ares are just sheet sections - that is if they use a steel shell with alloy panels like a Rangie ?
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

G'day mate,

its a reasonable price for its condition, they are normally around the $8k mark for a good one. I've seen them at $11K too.

The transmission been reco is a great plus.

As for the firewall, it's a big jib to replace the whole thing, you would be better to repair it. There is a place in melbourne that sells repair sections that you weld on. they are called FWD. they don't have all parts of a firewall but they have the tricker sections and anything they don't have is all just flat sheet metel. To replace the whole firewall involves pulling the wings and bonnet off, all the wiring to come out and dash out . then get another one and fit the dash and wiring to it, plus firewalls for countys are expensive for a second hand one

Well I've decided to keep the MQ, for the time being anyway

When I've got the cabbage will get a landy but when that'll be is anyones guess, so many other toys to get!

When I come into the light and have a landy registered in my name will let you know

Cheers
