Just curious as to wether any of you guys regret going to or having efi?

Im considering going efi, but can see some hassles with water, and breakdowns...

your thoughts?

IMO EFI is the way to go - I haven't had any probs and even if I did
I reckon an efi system is easier to fix/trouble shoot than a points/carby system.

I went EFI and IMO it's great, more stable than carby/points so less break downs. It's must smoother and responsive.

i can't think of any conditions where you wouldn't prefer EFI, by a wide margin...

Some carbys have a electrical bits on them as well. Take the Nikki carb on my Patrol for example.

EFI is better no doubt. Can be adapted to more engine mods as well.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.

I meant the water that comes with doing mud stuff, but water hasnt bothered any of you guys I take it? have any of you done any creek crossings?

interesting... there goes the biggest downside I saw to EFI

All the senors in the engine bay on most EFI engines have rubber seals to keep water out of the connection. The EFI computer should be mounted high inside the cabin where it hopefully won't ever get wet.

The electricals that will most likely fail when wet are your ignition system components and both EFI and carby have those. EFI is also usually better on steep slopes than a carby.
