winch events question

Post by thunder »

a quick one..
patrol is going to get a tube bar and is it within the rules to cut a
bit of the chassis off the front..as on ccda it says
3.3.13 chassis
the origanal chassis for that make of vehicle shall be
retained and shall remain SUBSTANTIALLY unmodified.
im looking at setting it up for winch style events..

dunno about ccda rules but the tapered section on the front of the GU chassis has to stay to be roadworthy, its part of the crumple zone / airbag deployment .
know of a bloke who had to weld it back on after he cut it off a ute even though it did not have airbags.
the GQ doesnt have that bit so i was intending to cut mine off too until i found out.
dunno how it would go if you poke those two bits through the bullbar ?
