Not having done it myself I don't know the best way to achieve this but I do know that the front hubs/disc setup from a 4Runner can't work. What about your handbrake? Rear setups would have an integrated drum on the disc for the mechanial handbrake. The front disc is designed to suit a swivel hub.
I'd imagine you would need heavy mods to the diff housing aswell as obtaining a setup from a car or 4WD (like a HZJ75 with rear discs) with integrated disc/drum to attach to the housing somehow. You would then have to sort out your brake master cylinder mismatch as well as possible load proportioning valve problems.
Sorry, can't be much more help than that. Maybe others will elaborate.

Why do want rear discs in the first place? The cost might not be worth the benefit. Actually what is the benefit in an everday situation?

Good luck.

I'm looking at doing this to my 84 Surf (beams axle front) I can't see any reason why the front solid disks off this model can't go on the back (which is what I am going to do) then I was going to make plates to attach XF falcon rear calipers (cable hand brake) too the axle housing.
For the front I'm putting IFS Surf disks (vented) and calipers on.
I don't believe that it is as difficuilt as MacroP made it out too be.
Cheers
Thomas
