Did MK/MQ's ever come standard with LSD's?
Did MK/MQ's ever come standard with LSD's?
As the title says...does anyone know?
If they did is it possible to swap the LSD centre between different ratio MQ diffs?
Cheers

Mine did, turbo deisel deluxe wagon though. It had all the fruit except paint which peeld off due to shitty preparation on Nissans part. Before all the Yota guys bag me they did it too at about the same era but theirs were red.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............

Got one if you want it $100 + postage $25
DR Frankenstine,
are you pertaining to LSD for an MK?
How would I know the particular model of my MK? I'm from the philippines and own a w160 lwb 5 speed.
I tried spining one rear tire while my rig was on a lift and the other tire turned in the oposite direction, so i guess I don't have LSD's.
TIA,
kamote

Note that that test only works with the transmission in neutral (and t-case-mounted parking brake off if applicable), otherwise it will spin opposite regardless.
In search of an MQ (offset) H233b rear, housing only preferred, plus a complete GQ or GU front (4.6 ratio ideal) to be shipped to the US. Cheap! Email/PM if you can help.
oops...i don't think i released the handbreak. I will try the test again to and I'm hoping with the slightest change that my patrol got LSD's on it...better than nothing i guess...
Thanks ExterraGuy

lsd
it would only spin opposite if the lsd is stuffed
Yup, would have to be pretty shot to spin opposite with the driveshaft free.
If you recall from your last test when the driveshaft wasn't free to spin, the other tire will spin opposite regardless, but if there's an LSD in there it will be somewhat to considerably harder than with an open diff depending on what condition the LSD is in. If it took any effort, you should have the LSD and don't need to re-test.

LWB MKs are sh1t common for LSD's........
The one Shawn and i just stripped for example had one in it we think.
The LSDs are interchangeable just like all centres are through out the entire MQ/MK series, as long as theu have the standard H233 Diff in it, ( 95 % of them, its the std diff ).
The only thing u have to be wary of is ratios. If u put an LSD in the rear u have to make sure that the ratio of the new centre is the same as whats currently in your rig.

Let me see if I understand . Your comment about making sure the ratios are right would only apply if I took the whole diff centre (crown wheel & pinion & LSD) from another truck and put it in my car as is? Correct?
If I took the LSD centre (no crown wheel and pinion) and transferred it to my diff, this would make sure I keep the correct ratios front and rear. Correct?
Cheers
