Hi Mele, welcome. :D

A Jap import engine would probably be the cheapest option- either another Feroza engine, an Applause engine (same engine -fits after swapping a few bits over) or there's a Charade Detomaso engine.

The engine is called a HD-E. The Detomaso is the most powerful version with a different cam and EFI computer controlled timing- meaning you'd have to get one with the loom and computer to do the install. But they do output 92kW!

Prolly the cheapest and eaiest is to get an Applause engine....a little bit of work swapping external bits over, but pretty easy, and readily available at a decent price. Stock Feroza motor = 70kw, stock Applause motor = 78kw, stock (?) DeTomaso engine = 92kw.

Well i'm sure u can fit plenty of engines to your liking.
If it doesnt fit to the bell housing i'm sure 1 can fabircate an adaptor.

As a rocky owner i would love to fit a Toyota 3 litre turbo diesel 1KZ....
130hp. Impressive eh.

Or the petrol route, how about a 3RZ-FE which i think is a 3 litre V6.

Some links to Toyota Hilux engines.
