A few questions

Post by My Lil Lux »

just wondering if I've worked out my costs of doing a 4 link rear are on the money, and if I've missed anything, also anyone who's done one on a lux, what sort of coin they spent.

I reckon i can do it for about $ 2000 does this sound to expensive or to cheap, thats new adjustable panhard rod, coils, brackets, making brackets, lower control arms and making a ladder bar, anything else i'm missing.

Also if i do this i won't be putting in my front locker for a while, so has anyone had any experience with running a LSD in the front. :?: :? :?

ladder bar?

i had a lsd in the front for about 12months. i liked it and thought that it worked well for what it was. you need to get use to the car pulling left on traction, other than that i had no dramas.

4 link, ladder bar, adjustable panhard rod ???
um i think you need to do some more research

a 4 link you will need to make upper and lower links, brackets for the diff and chassis, coil mounts upper and lower, shock mounts .......
Are you planning on doing all the work yourself and fabbing all the links and brackets or you going to buy pre made bits and fit them ??

Some workshops will do a 4link rear for $2000 easy

making all the bits and fitting them yourself you could get away with $800 easy, but you gotta know what your doing in getting link lengths and seperation right or you will have real problems.

I can fab most of the brackets, but the length's are where I'll prob need help, I've had a look at a few others now, and got some info of other sites, realised I was missing a few bits, am sought of half tempted to pay someone to do it, so it's done right and not to many probs gettin engineered, any reccomendations on who to get to do it,

Thanks Nick, going to put the LSD in for now, and spend the dollars on some gear reduction first,

Can't remember who posted this but something like this is what I'm gonna do now

You should be able to pay some one to do it with the 2K you mentioned before
