New Winch Challenge Competition

Post by Smithy jnr »

Any interest in a new competition to be held November 12,13,14 in Central Victoria. It is an idea I'm kicking around as I'm not going to New Zealand this year, so I'm looking for something to fill the void. There isn't enough comp's in Victoria!! Not alot of notice for competitors, that's why I'm asking for expressions of interest. If I get enough response's to the idea, I will take it on. I haven't worked out entry fees and all that, it's just an idea at the moment.

i agree not enough events in Vic but what about something other than a winch challenge event. We need to get some trials style events happening like Nissan Trials/Willowglen etc.

Does anyone know of suitable properties that are keen to run events. Werribee would be good, all it needs is a few keen clubs and some $$$ to put in some challenging obstacles

I was going to suggest the same thing, a trials type event. I think we have plenty of winch style events in Vic but no trials. We are forced to drive to Sydney for anything like that.

Ok then lets get some clubs interested and see what we can do. The Suzuki Club are keen we are trialling (excuse the pun) some ideas soon for an event, just playing around on a property (not suitable for a full on event). We have event experience (Rhino Trophy) but don't have sufficient numbers or connections anymore to run a event on our own. Surely there are people out there with the right connections. Lets make this happen for next year

Hey Ludacris,

Does it matter what sort of $$$ and prizes are up for grabs?

Why not just do it for fun? and make it easier for the guy to arrange.

BTW smithy, put me down and grimbo will your car be ready by then??

4wd TV will be there if you want coverage and we would be willing to help the suzi club in any way possible.
Personally I believe we need some more short course events...but harder than Cruiserkhana.
Smithy let us know if you want cover, exposure and/or promotion for the event. It will fall in the middle of our season so we can certainly let spectators know.

Im sure On Track could help. We are running Vic Winch this year so we'll have plenty of experience and connections.

Prizes and dollars don't matter at all, lets just have fun. It sounds like there are a few clubs interested which is a big bonus. You are totally right champ. I appologise.Cheers.

Why not try an event on the "Shot course" style of event Have a look at http://www.asccevents.com/ and see what you think . This is a Queensland based event that has expanded this year to Townsville and is keen to go further. Contact Glen via the web address and have a chat to him if you can get it off the ground some of the top runners from Brisvegas may even head south to help promote it

Yeh I am up for your idea smithy but try if you can not to clash with Nav Run, it will only reduce your numbers otherwise. Cos thats where we will be and a few others I know. Goodluck, a change is as good as a holiday they say. Cheers. :D
if you want it done properly do it yourself
