yeah check out the Michelin range, 255/100 R16's, they have a good weight ratio, they fit them to Mitsubishi Canter 4wd trucks as super singles :cool: :cool:

If you are looking for some cheap big road tyres.Igot 4x285/75/16 a/t for $60 each @melbournes cheapest tyres in dandenong.I tried the 900x16 route but theprice was comparable with new BFG/coopers,etc

try your local tyre shops. I bought some secondhand light truck radials in that size a few years ago cheaply.

9.00x16 non bar tread tyres are commercial vehicle tyres and tend to be heavy compared to the popular offroad tyres with similar diameters. I began using them about 30 years ago but they have always been a rare animal in Australia and therefore rather expensive. you would probably be better off getting some 7 inch rims and going for a large AT tyre.

BTW, Q78's should be fitted to 7inch rims. They handle like a big soggy custard on 6's.

i passed on a set of 9.00 r16 toa friend about 3 years ago.
they were m/t pattern though. i think there was more there.
they were from a second hand tyre shop thats located next to the westgate freeway, maybe brady street south melb.
you can see the second hand tyre shop from then freeway.
anthony johnson may have some as well.
