the block is the same pattern
howver there are subtle differences
Like piston skirt cooling (12HT not 2H) and also you will find that the oil holes for the turbo on the passenger side of the block are not drilled either(would have been easy to test oil pressure if they had been!). This will make oil lines for the turbo a pain, probably need to tap into the alternator oil line, or even drill and tap the holes into the gallerie while youve got the block stripped. The water line for the turbo is drilled and tapped on my 2H.
i myself was exploring an upgrade of the 2H to direct injection and ofcourse turbo, but by the time you collect all the manifolds etc it wasnt worth it, for me at least. If you already have everything then it shouldnt be real difficult to use a 2H block.
