You should use the same paint I did as it comes in tins for spraying and in rattle cans for touch ups.

Under body washed ready for stone guard (for sound deadening), chassis ready for paint, steering worked out, material for rear shock hoop ordered.

Planning on a big weekend ahead. Will bet some photos of a more complete vehicle by sunday night, i hope.

Touched up the welding under the chassis today by flipping it, then painted the underside of the frame, steel for shock hoop arrived 24 hours late. Ended up having to work until 3pm so didn't get much done.

Plans for tomoz, rear shock hoop, stone guard inside and underneath the body, refit springs and diffs, finish winch mount, finish off body prep ready for paint on Monday.

I think i've finally decided on red but still have 24hre to make up my mind. Kind of like tool box blue but am thinking that's a bit "otis".

Anyway, steering box mounted, shock hoop made ready to weld on, body stoneguarded underneath and inside, winch mount complete, suspension mounts all done.

List for tomorrow:

Fit diffs/springs, fit shock hoop, spray putty body, install body lift blocks and if i get time fit the boggers. :twisted:

Maybe thinking of using a motorbike disc and caliper as a park brake, has anyone done this before?

They sell kits in the US to do it but they are a bit pricey for what you get.

Was thinking of a motor bike disc and caliper operating off the original 1.0ltr master cylinder with a lever attached to the original park brake.

Yeah a few people have done similar eg mud4b (i think) used a wilwood calipar

Mmmm Otis. I think Otis will be reducing the popularity of blue zuk's for a while.

I believe that Mud4b used a go kart cliper (mechanical). Generally, motorbike calipers are hydraulic, and this is probably more complexity than necessary.

spring and shackle rubbers arriving tomorrow, will bolt up diffs then bolt up steering box.

Rear adjustable shock hoop mounted, fuel tank in for the last time, steering box mounted, winch mounted (touching steering box so needs to move a little), chassis painted all bar the engine mounts, body lift blocks in place.

I’m waiting on the rubber spring bushings at the moment, hopefully they get here today, if they do I will fit the front and rear springs with the diffs tonight. My spray booth is full so have not painted the body yet but will do this week. Red is the final decision (the more I thought of blue the more I thought of Otis).

Trying to get it driveable within the next two weeks.

Tonight nothing got done, damn work gets in the way of everything.

Anyway by tomorrow night i'll have gotten over the frustration and back into it.
