Power steer cooler

Post by beebee »

Is it worth putting a power steer cooler/radiator type thingie on my power steering setup? I thought I could get one from some auto gearbox and mount it somewhere to lessen the heat buildup in the system. Would also increase capacity. Is this a waste of time?

No its a good idea, as when I ran my first set of Q78's I would boil the oil in my power stearing. After puting a cooler on, all was OK :D .
Now I run Hydro assist it is good for cooling and capacity.
NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.

But no good for the hip pocket!

During daily driving there's no problems but when I'm going slow off road, I have to start fighting the wheel and the power steering system lets me know that it's in pain.

I'll have a look around the wreaker's tomorrow.

Would the auto cooler be the way to go. From what I have seen most of these are fairly small but should I source a larger one?

Would a small one make any difference or does it have to me massive?

Thanks CJer - just before the resi sounds good.

Even a small one will make a difference but if you have the room and can pick up a larger one it wont hurt.
