You could also try soaking it with Citrus cleaner like desolvit, then hit it with a heat gun. Peel from one edge slowly working the line of film from edge to edge

agree. stripped more window tint than I care to remember. be careful to moderate the temperature - too cool and the tint film spilts as you try and peel it, too hot and it melts.
brake fluid, eucalyptus oil, general purpose thinners etc will all stip off the remaining glue.
i tried a lot of stuff, but to actually got the tint film off was the hardest part. it would always rip into little strips.
anyway, i used petrol, unleaded, and eucalyptus oil, they both do about the same job, but you'll always need a sharp razor or glass scraper to get most of it off. esp. if its the old stuff thats stuck on good.
but if its bubbling, then it should be willing to come off by itself.
just another thought, what about paint stripper?
are you leaving the window in the car or are you taking it out? i took mine out of the doors, and put it on a table, much easier.
I have been told a steam wallpaper stripper machine is the go.
Have not tried it though. I just used a blade and some paint thinners to get some off my old mans ute.
Paul.
according to dude who did a talk at the club the other week, he said its sometimes just as easy to replace windows. he trys not to take the jobs on that need removal, as it can take 2-6 hours per window depending on car and window size.
He mentioned heat, and scraper, all sorts of chemicals, but he hated it!
I work at a tint shop what we do is spray the tinted window down with like a window cleaner or a soapy water and then take a trash bag and put it over it and let it sit in the sun for half hour, then take a razor to it make sure to keep soaking it down as you strip it. One of our tinter's uses a steam mashine that works very well.

what about big fat ass pin stripes? like 25-30mm wide. tried hairdrier and a heat gun and nothing but picking them off but only get tiny bits off at a time.
I prefer tintless, don't have to panic all the time about any cargo in the truck touching the windows, and glass never bubbles. Tintless is also way better at night, dark tints suck when you're turning corners and looking through the side windows.
my old man brought some stuff home that we rubbed into it and it eats away the glue. You can just scrape the tint off pretty simply with a paint scraper.
I will ask him what it was as i cannot remember.... get back to you.
