lockers (yes another locker question)

Post by X-R-Cist »

But this one is different.
I know a guy that can get me a set of lockers from the TI patrol at $500 a diff.

Not installed, but a friend of mine is a mechanic who can install them at virtually no cost (just a case of beer)

These could be second hand lockers.

Question is; are these a bargain, i havent done much shopping on lockers, but i know ARB are selling them over the $1000 mark.

discuss....

What kind of lockers? I doubt arb's. You need to find out what type first

Probably auto lockers and if so that's an ok price for second hand but a little extra is worth it for new if you don't know the history of em. :)

IF they are arb's then grab em but try to find out where they've been.

Research what kinda lockers are out there first, an ARB air lock is waaaaay different to detroit, different to factory nissan ones and so forth

Factory or ARB air would be great at that price, others less so.

IMHO.

the guy said that he can get the factory locker out of a TI for 500. However he will get a different one for the front for the same price to fit on a GU. He didnt mention what type they were, but i highly doubt they would be ARB lockers.

If its the fact diff-lock, you'll need all the rest of the bits to go with it--vacuum solenoids, switch, lines, wiring etc. The left hand axle shaft is shorter in the diff-lock axle as well. The fact locker cant be fitted in the front diff--well not without a lot of machine work and mods anyway.
