Stuffed Shock!!

Post by GODZUKI »

I just pulled apart my coilovers (dobbin style) and have realised that one of the rancho shocks has about 50mm with no resistance both up and down. Then the dampening kicks in.

Normally i would put it back together and back in the car, but seeing that i will wait for a week or so for new coils i might have it looked at.

My Question - Are the rancho adjustables rebuildable??? And if so is there anyone in Brisbane who can do it.

Cheers,
Andrew

Try

W W Shock Absorbers
33 Matheson St
Virginia
3265 2133

I am about to have them repair a 99036x Rancho where I have crushed the wall. They cannot get new inner tube but I will be supplying an old stuffed 9012 to remove the inner tube from and reuse it with my panelbeated outer and ends incl valving etc. Don't know if they offer a rebuild service for ranchos specifically but they're certainly worth a try.

Good luck!

Ps: i have also heard ranchos are starting to suffer a little on reliablity..
the foam cell bs in them collapsing etc etc and buggering up the valving.

I found this out of barry at pine rivers..he has some 2' in lift shocks suit cruisers and patrols up there but isn't prepared to sell them due to the dramas involved with their warranty returns
45 series ute - 308 -gas -35's- lifted -no flex..But i got air lockers !

If you are running them upside down, try putting them on right way up for a few weeks, then they will return to normal! then you cna put them upside down again!

My 9s are quite old and have some serious external crushing. One is from my flipped arm on the front and it looks like it shouldn't work at all, but they still work fine :D

I am more than happy with the Rancho quality and reliabilty (and no I'm not being paid to say this  )
