Any way's the Knukle head used by what i can tell 307 head gaskets on a 350 chev , Its as plian as day the metal ring on the gasket was some 1/4 of an inch smaller in diameter then the bore size , amazingly this motor allegedlly ran well for about three years
The metal rings are burnt out of the gasket in areas and of course created a few other problems here and there .Im amazed they even sealed at all
Another i had was a little cross flow escort motor Quiet a few bucks spent on machining , and assembled by mmmm , short run in period interupted by Siezed Bearing on number 1 rod , Decided to pull the thing down and have a look myself , certianly seized bearing on no 1 took the meltdown bearings off the crank , Low en behold look at this METAL fresh metal drilling remanents in the oil gallery on the crank Fools didn,t bother blowing out or tubbing the crank after machining n before assembly.
Losing a little faith here .
Anyone else ?
Larry.
