I am looking to install Simex Jungle Trekkers II 34*12.5 Tyres on Diacovery.
for drive terrain i have the 4.11R&P and rear and front HD axles and Cv's from MD installed with 32*9.5 Simex ET
Anyone have experience with their performance on/off road?
How do they compare with the Simex ET's and new ET'II??

a mate has em on his 80 and i have the ET II's and the JT's arent a patch on the ET's..

Jay - good to have you onboard the "wickedest" 4x4 forum east of us!...oh...and welcome (officially) :finger:

Just to give you guys some input on the terrain we have in Lebanon - EVERYTHING...we get fire-tracks, tarmac covered in light snow, deep snow, slush, mud, rocks, grass, pebbles...in sum a terrain that may need floatation in the morning, but bite in teh afternoon...we have differentiated 4 seasons, so its even more difficult...

Currently running the 34jt2 11.5'' on my 93 disco you will need 2'' body and spring lift and rangie spare flares. back spaced rims, maxi axles or the like are essential, and upgrade to 110 cv i have 2nd hade ones but have gone through 3 in the past 12mth waiting on the dollars to get the maxi 110cv said to be stronger, just got new CWP last month and performance inproved tenfold now about that rubber EXCELLENT

From what I have seen and related to others, the JT2 and the ET are very similar offroad, though the JT2's are better on road being more stable in the carcass. The JT2's seem happier running lower pressures in the bush than the ET's, though the ET2 is similar to the JT2. The ET2 in a 35x11.5 though seems to be better than the JT2 offroad, and this I tend to think is the best of the Simex range.

BTW, they are all light years ahead of any Mud tyre.

I agree with Slunnie, I too have found the JTs resist rolling off the rim whereas the ETs roll off easier, both on a heavy weight Patrol wagon.

I've run the 32 Simex extremes on my discovery, they are a fantastic tyre for a Discovery sized vehicle without excessive modifications. If you step up to the JT2's you will obviously need the 2 inch body lift, spring lift and Rangie Spares flairs. The only advantage in the JT2's is the diff clearance, the Extreme's are just as good traction wise, if not better in smooth slippery clays.
You will loose alot of power with the bigger tyres and be more likely to break CV's when running both lockers in tough terrain. That said if you can fit them I'd run them.

What R&P ratio do u have on the 93 Disco? In what kind of terrain are u driving the JTII?
How do they behave on road besides noise, vibration/stability/braking? Can you send a pic of your disco
Does the JT II come in 34-12.5-15. They are actually 34.6" almost a 35.

On my 1996 Disco I have the rear MD axles and 3" OME lift with rear RTE cones and have in stock the 2" Body lift from RTE and flares from Rangie Spares wating to be installed when I get the tyres.
