Jeramy all those links are talking about factory turbo 22RET's not 22R engines.

The bigest prob you are going to have is that the 22R is allready a very high compression engine and wont last very long unless you run a decompresion plate(which will stuff up the cam timing) or replace the pistons with a set of lower compresion ones.

I though of doing this as well but for the cost of an engine swap i could fit a reliable engine that had more power than turboing the 22RE.

you can pull the head and remove some material in the combustion chamber to lower the compression ratio.

Without looking at the combustion chamber i dont know if you could take enough material out. If it is a similar design to a 4k head it would be quite easy to do.

petrol: (RJ70...)
22R 2367cc petrol 4cyls 2-valves/cyl sohc
bore: 92mm, stroke: 89mm, c.r.: 9.0:1
power: 105 HP at 4800rpm, torque: 136 Ft-Lb at 2800rpm

This is cut and pasted off a bundera site (as bundys use 22r's) and it states the compression above.

Hope this helps

Nick
