I replaced mine about nine months ago and found them in desperate need of servicing yesterday. They do get wet fairly often with the car in mud and water and I have wide offset wheels on as well that cause more stress.
I am wondering if anyone else has to repack them frequently, and if so what grease do you use? I just use castrol HTB but thought there might be a marine grease that is better, and wont wash out as easy...

I used to use the HTB grease, but didn't like how it would lose it's tackiness over time, didn't seem to be very water resistant either (for a 4 wheel drive anyway.) I've changed to the Nulon red Extreme grease, contains Teflon, but apart from that it is really tacky, bright red to see any contamination (as opposed to the dull beige colour of the Castrol range) and did I mention sticky? Very tenacious grease.
Most recomend regrease at 40,000km intervals, but shorten this with big tyres, large rim offsets, and heaps of offroad driving. 20,000 to 30,000 maybe?

Built, not bought.
