Warburton Winching Nav Nite - Bummer - event postponed

Post by Hobzee »

I set this up on Sunday - man was it slippery. I sported new 38" Boggers to cope and still had to winch a fair bit.

Starts at 8pm at the Quarry (381783 5816397 55H) - Take Tarrango Rd 1/2 way between Yarra Junction and Wesburn then Guidehouse Rd on the left.

Teams of 2 well set up rigs. Be prepared for winch challenge std but in the dark. No navigating but got to be able to find the 10 stages. Some stage everyone will winch, some stage 50% will winch and some stage everyone will drive. All bog holes can be driven without damage or over heating problems - (provided you have 38" boggers) - just kidding

If no hold ups expect to head home by 1-2am. No catering so BYO food and drinks. Competitors can't drink alcohol until finished - will be breathalised. Plenty of camp fire socialising.

Cost is $195 per team of 2 cars. All drivers, marshalls and co-drivers need to be in CCDA. Enter and pay (credit card & chqs ok) on the night (incl CCDA). Come early to get the paperwork out of the way.

Marshalls needed. Come afternoon to be given a stage. Bring a stop watch.

Channel 20 UHF.

Got permits and paid a $1000 bond so if weather is rediculous we need to do a night drive instead in an area less sensitive to driving in the wet. If so, $ refunded.

Good spectating (freeee).

If questions call me on 03 9705 6677 / 0414 462 386.

Sounds good. Spoke to Hobzee yesterday while they were repairing steering boxes, tyres and CVs.

I'm teamed up with Henry (DOOH) from the board. Who else is having a go?

Just heard from the Ranger who has pulled the pin. He says it is too wet and permit now denied. Guess this makes it hard to go a head regardless. Bummer, huh. Anyhow, I can thoroughly recommend going for a fang in the area. Hopefully we can get another permit for another weekend and hold it later. Don't worry, I will make the challenges harder as it will be dryer.

Any paid up entries will be refunded.

The event will be re-scheduled in the same area. I am currently speaking to the ranger to arrange another date. Hopefuly very soon. Will let you guys know.
It is now current policy for any events in this area and you will find it spreading to other areas that if its wet any event will be denied. We have to strictly abide by this for if we went ahead all events will be cancelled for ever in these particullar areas.
