please be easyish fix?? :(
ok, heres the deal, GQ patrol, 5speed diesel gearbox, 5ltr injected holden motor, motor was turning over by hand perfect on engine stand, put it in the car (usin marks kit) and now that its in it wont turn over by hand or by starter motor no more :( any ideas????????????????
nah is a 2nd hand motor with warranty etc, only 2 things i can think of
its jammed up somewhere in the bellhousing ?? (jeff said this is common)
or 2, we had to support the engine for a little bit while swapping cranes over etc etc and to do it we put a block of wood between the chassis and under the front pulley/sump on the motor, sump aint bent but could we have bent the crank????

I would first remove the starter and try and turn it over by hand, just incase the starter is fouling. If that is ok,then I would loosen the bellhousing bolts and move the gearbox back a little bit and then try and turn the engine over.

Did you have a pin locating the flywheel to the engine block when you were tightening the flywheel to crankshaft bolts?? Have you left that in??
Try being a bit more specific.....will the crankshaft move at all??..does it feel like a mechanical stop to the movement if it does move, or is it a progressive bind-up??...Can you turn the rear driveshaft flange of the tranny with the car in neutral (to exclude probs with the tranny)??.. can you turn the engine over with the clutch pedal depressed??
