383FJ45 - You mentioned 'Twin Gas Research Carbs', do these have problems on steep hills, or is it like running an EFI setup.

Also, what is mileage like compared to petrol and gas?

How many gears does a Turbo 400 have?

Just looking back over this thread and noticed the issue of Speed Sensors...

Asked around a bit and got told by the guy at Marks 4wd adaptors that it was a legal requirement for epa and it may effect fuel consumption. Others have said that fuel consumption is only really affected for an Auto (torque converter lock up and shift patterns etc)

I'm currently getting 20L/100km with the VN 5.0 V8 on gas and no speed sensor. How much change would you expect to see with the sensor in place?

Is there any other reason to spend the $330?

if you purchase an older engine i'd recomend it be
rebuilt. idle oil pressure can be fixed by a good
engine builder anyway.

turbo 400 is 3 speed just a heavier version of the 350.
