I believe that AVM in Brasil make a part time kit including free wheeling hubs for Defenders and Disco's. ARB head office did have it on their computer listing a couple of years ago but apparently none of their staff could find it when I enquired again about 6 months ago.

GBR or one of the other US companies sells a kit. Do a search in the rover section of pirate4x4.com I think serious one has it in his crew cab.

Just reread your post - pm serious 1 (I assume it was him) and he will give you the info of where he bought it.

I think it was BCB that supplied the LT230 spools to the US guys

In the dim, dark recessess of this befuddled brain, I seem to recall 4WD Systems in Adelaide offering a part time conversion for the LT230. They deffinately do for 'Cruisers.
Do a search for their website or give them a call.

4WD Systems still have the conversion for sale. Don't know much about it though.

BCB made a small batch of spools for LT230. I don't think serious1 has one, but rockrover certainly did and he posted photos on pirate.

BCB don't seem to be very interested in making more at this stage.

There is a thread in pirate where David Ashcroft said that he has a part time conversion for the LT230 - but they don't appear on their web page.

I have seen adds here for part time conversions for cruisers but permanent 4wd was optional so they probably could be converted with stock parts.

I haven't noticed adds here for part time conversions for rovers.

the 4wd systems kit has the part time spool/thingie and fwh to suit disco/rr
i believe spacers are needed to fit on earlier fender/county hubs.
not bad for about $695, although i don't know who makes the stuff, so can't comment on its strength.

Hi all,
I've just fitted this kit - my advice is SAVE YOUR MONEY!

If you can weld you can do it for nothing, although there may be a small and easily overcome issue with the front output shaft needing support.

Photos of my install are here:
http://www.juracid.co.uk/gallery/thumb.php?dir=LT230_2WD_Conversion

The only thing with doing it yourself is you don't get the free wheeling hubs with it - but most people won't use them anyway I'd imagine?
I can't even fit mine because they are for Defender axles and I'm running a Series 3. If anyone wants to offer me £100 for the FWH's they're more than welcome - I take paypal :D

I bought the kit from Ashcroft Transmissions who are very helpful, aparrently the kit is actually made / sold by Bearmach, who only sell to the trade. I paid £150 for the kit, don't know how that compares to the price you guys have to pay.
