Limiting straps
Just wondering where to get some limiting straps from, preferably in Melbourne. Trying to reduce CV carnage for an IFS front end.
IFS with travel
yeah I know but I'm changing my suspension around and will have more travel than the CV operating angle can handle until I can sort out a solution for that and no I don't want a SAS so limiting straps will be the order of the day. Also when I resolve the CV angle issue the straps will then be used to stop the struts from bottoming out hard.
LWB Vitara. The Calmini 3" suspension already uses strut spacers and drops the diff a little but the Old Man Emu struts I also have are longer than those supplied in the kit and have more travel. The inner CV has a fairly shallow operating angle therefore the need at this stage to limit droop within reasonable operating parameters until I can find a decent solution.

This is the second time I have heard this nasty rumor
For those who don't know, Vitara's do not have rebound snubbers ("top" bumpstops) and the calmini lift kits use a VERY long spring that is heavily compressed to attain the lift height. When the suspension bounces, the springs slap the struts into full extension very hard and in the case of the other Calmini equipped car inthe club, this slapping action smashed a Calmini strut.
The idea with CJ's car is to run a longer and softer strut than the Calmini strut, and ideally use a limitng strap to prevent the springs smashing the strut or pulling the CV apart.
