How much backspace do you need?

Post by Mudzuki »

Looking to get some 15x8s soon and i am wondering how much backspace i need.

Did a search and found this site with good explanation:

http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html#backspace

Is a 4 inch backspace enough, and available off the shelf?

Was looking at some bling eagle alloys for F100, and they have a backspace of 3.25"

Also, what is the zook stud pattern?

It all depends on what tyre size.

with 31's 4 inch backspacing could be OK but with 34's you won't be able to turn.

I have 2.5 inch back spacing and just touch the springs on full lock

Was looking at running either 33" or 34" Jungle Trekkers, running 2" BL and springover.

Would 3.25" backspace will reduce turning circle too much?

SPOA in VIC? or are you planning to move to NSW?

Anyway, i just had to say that.

SPOA + 2" BL will lift your rig around 6 inches plus the extra height in the tyres. I'm not saying don't do it but if you do make sure you have a good roll cage.

You (with a little cutting) may clear the 34's with SPOA & RUF and no body lift.

2.5" BS with JT2 still rubbed on the springs and needed steering stops (which are also quite a hassle)

NAM's were rock crawler's and as he said had 2.5 back spacing

I currently have a set of four 2.5 inch back spaced 15X7's for $250 if your interested.

I really need 15x8s with the jungle trekkers. I prefer the wider tyres.

Anyone know what 16" rims will fit the sierra? I'm after 16x8s and having a real hard time finding anything. I think jeep rims may be the way to go. I think cj rims fit but do these come in 16"?

Do a search in the for sale section

I know a set of 16X8's with custom offset were up for a sale a while back by a melbourne bloke.
