axle wrap bars
I was just think about axle wrap bars and why they are needed. Is one needed when a spring over conversion is conducted to stop wreckin springs? and if so, what is stopping this axle wrap on 4wd's like the older hiluxes that come with spring over?

hi buddy , i ran a 40 series with soa a while ago ,the biggest prob was the springs were pretty soft in the rear axle wrap was bad when u put the hammer down ,broke 3 pinon's and stuffed 4 tail shafts ,fitted a wrap bar no more problems,i would avice on gettin one made .i never had a problem with bendin springs but i have heard off others bendin them .

Because old luxes lack the power to twist the springs. Probably have pretty stiff springs, too.

stock luxes do still have rap just not as much
they have stiffer springs then most soa cars(most soa cars have flat springs where luxes have a bit of arch)
i think most luxes have the rear shocks mounted on different sides of the axel (could be wrong) but that would aslo help iliminate a bit of wrap
hey guys u forget the force that any combustion engine creates! if u have enough torque to climb something then chances are there is a chace of axle rapp...and more so with moded soa conversions

old luxes were designed spoa, so the spring rate, shape and size has that in mind. they are very flat and stiff, but if fitted underneath, they may have arched them more?
On a car not designed spoa, there is greater force on the same spring, ie more torque because of the lever effect, the longer the lever, the easier it is to force stuff.
and if spring gives too much, uni joints etc could go way out of their comfort zone. If spoa conversion is what you want, then fitting a wrap bar be wise, or stiffer springs, with lack of travel, christover

Well you know those guy’s who get down and get up again, it ain’t that. It’s the old Newtons law, force in one direction will have an equal and opposite force in the other direction, hence your wheels are driving one way and your diff/housing is trying to go the other way. The lower the gear the more torque the longer/softer the springs all leads to more diff wind up. So you fit wrap rods, tramp rod, ladder bars 4or5 link suspension to stop this torque re-action. When the axle turns, the diff does too, and this can cause tailshaft angles to go crazy, universal joints to bind up, springs to get distorted...
