yeah ,was a good day.Lots of winching though, some of those holes were nasty .I would have prefered more hills and not the bog holes...
Big scotty was charging hard , not sure where he finished though....
And how did everyone enjoy the walk out up the hill, I was sober again when i got to the top.....

1st - GQHoon
2nd - Maxi tyres GQ shorty
3rd - Henry
4th - Moony
us
27th
We DNF all 3 of Sundays stages with the GU.
Stage 9 - broke the plasma after nearly putting it on its side!
Stage 10 - missed the DNF time by 1 min
Stage 11 - winch died
Did well Friday night, driving all stages and settling into the event.
Compleated all of Saturdays stages with mid field results leaving us in 18th position ready for Sunday.
Learnt heaps, will be back.
This was the first winch event for both of us and only the second time I have meet my driver so now we know how each other works, plus a few things we picked up along the way, we should do better next year.

If you can not get there in a 4wd its not worth looking at
OzJeeper wrote:Can't be sure but Guts was placed about 11th coming into the Sunday stages. Had a good run on SS9 (I think thats the right stage) and did a good time with one penalty.
About 7 vehicles have bowed out due to damage/failures.

Thanks Mal,
You were missed this year...had a few rangies there to fly the flag but not quite the same without you.
Had a great time and a big big thanks to Sandy, Allison, the team at Aus4wd & On Track for putting in a huge effort. This would have to have been the best run event I have seen.
Henry,
ps don't mention the Mooney thing, its a touchy subject...

After friday night we were about 4 or 5 from the bottom
After saturday we were 15th
After sunday we got up to 12th in a 2lt hilux
We finished every stage and had NO penilties all weekend
Bent a guard (our very last stage) and broke a front main leaf (on 1st stage sunday) on the eye, did another 2 stages with this still in working like a slipper spring on a trailer
Must say to everybody involved (organisers and compeditors) It was a GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! weekend and event and a top effort to all.
Oh and for anybody that might care we got back into Albury at 12am, then after dropping matt and his stuff home and then unpacking the cruiser etc I got to bed at 1.30am and had to go to work at 7.30am

Henry,
Congrats again. I drove the RR home to Kiama on Monday - no fires. Flog it all weekend then drive it up the Hume for 10 hours. See you at the Pajero next year.
