Insurance Trap

Post by muddyperils »

With all the problems floating around the forums with insurance I thought I might as well test things for my self, I went online to JCI (justcarinsurance.com.au) and told them I hadn't yet purchased the Vehicle, It was to be a 94 DX patrol 4.2 diesel, I added a 4" spring lift, Bullbar, winch, turbo, exhaust, CB, but forgot to mension 35" tyres this time round  .
The qoute was a $1000, which is a bit ripe but the mungrels will only Comprehensively Insure it for $15,500. MY GOD  I CANT EVEN BUY A 94-95 GQ IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THAT. Just surched Trading post and some for 14000 -15000 are shockers. I would advise a pre purchase qoute from these companies, it might make you think Harder about buying an OLD CAR for more thaan what it is actually worth?? :D

Insurance companies usually pick the lowest value of the range given in glass's guide or one of the other second hand guides as the market value. You need agreed value insurance if you want a better deal.
