Cheaper lokkas, which one?
Easy lokka, lockrite etc. Which one what price. Its for a RN46 hilux used as daily drive as well as driven like stolen off road. Initially it will be in the front but a second will folow in the rear. Opinions please, but from personal experiance preferred.

Go with the EZ lokka from detroit.
They are cheapest and good from experience .
Running as a daily driver will be no prob if you have free wheeling hubs in the front which you have so no problemos.
For the rear use a full detroit no spin better and stronger than EZ lokka .
tho you could go for the no spin up front and rear like i am .
Cheers
PS if you want to get the lokkas cheep buy thru the US like i did the full no spin cost $825 aus shipped tax etc etc got here in 10 days .

with lockers, you get what you pay for. the lockright style are cheap and effective but their on-road performance is pretty poor. for the rear especially, save up the extra for an air locker (or McNamara or other manually operated locker), avoid the risk of being disappointed with auto locker performance and get the bonus of being able to turn it on and off whenever you want.

Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
i'd say go an air locker. i picked mine up second hand pretty cheap. air lockers are only on when you want them on. A detroit is almost the same price as an arb air locker anyway. like dumbdance said, you only get what you pay for. my 2 cents

Afterdriving a rig on the weekend with twin ARBs im converted.
but like you im strapped for $$.
mate a lockrite USA made one, for a 40 series is 340AUS.
i would imagine one for a lux would be similar.
thats thru central 4 wheel drive. search lockrite in yahoo, and do thesame with detroit etc.
i think if i was going to spend 800+ on a auto locker, i would save the extra for a ARB.
but if i can get mine installed and wheeling for only 400 odd then im on a winner i think.

When i imported my ez-locker from the states for my zook , i went through http://www.roadlessgear.com . Service was realy good, and only too a few weeks to get here, cost was $360 or so. Havent had any problem on the road, the locker is noticable but not bad.
Hope this helps.
