SAS Vit at Nissan Trials
SAS Vit at Nissan Trials
jeremy (surfection) just sent me these pics from his phone of a vitara he spotted at the nissan trials
SAS'd Vitara
Vitara again
here's what he said in the message
I dunno who's vit it is, it was just parked near us.
Looked like a toy front and stock rear. The pumpkin was offset too far one way,
can't remember which, so the shaft wasn't quite lined up, they had it wired up
and out of the way. Looked very fresh but had no stickers on it etc. Was nice
and low etc, wouldn't ever have any probs on the street cause it was so normal
looking. Thought u might like it but only had my phone so snapped a couple of
shots. Was using standard toy steering arms with toy drag and tie rods, had a 5
link, very nicely setup, nice flat links going to a square cross member under
the gearbox, looked like it'd drive very nicely the way they had it setup. Made
it look like a simple weekend job, just not sure what their plans are for lining
up the front shaft, possibly a small 2 piece setup. Couple more pics to come.
Cheers, Jeremy

Ummm, yeah... What he said !! Any of you guys recognise it ? Looked very kewl.
Didn't see any X-90 there from canberra that MY45 had mentioned. He most have been talking about the Vit chopped into a ute [black with silver exo]. It was pretty nice, but they had steering issues. Drove into the first big wombat hole and stopped, got towed out with both front wheels pointing in... ouch ! They straightened it out and kept going though which was good. Didn't think to get pics of that one though

cool stuff guys. i'd love some pics of the crossmember mount for the links under the gearbox and also a pic from behind the axle looking forward to see exactly where he has run the links. it looks like a very very nice setup
huggy, is it a toyota axle? what is he doing about diff ratios to match the vitara axle in the back? or is he gonna swap that out as well?
