What tyres are regroovable, as im looking at weather or not i can regroove swampers in particular and any other full on tyres. :roll: :?:
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

If you are looking for legally regroovable tyres - they are only legal if they have "regroovable" on the sidewall - And I have only seen this on some truck/bus tyres.

If you are looking at which tyres you "can" regroove - most tyres have at least 6mm or so of extra rubber you can remove, and still leave 2-3mm before you hit the cords. You have to be careful though.

Thankx for that info but they will never b driven on road so i dont supose it matters too much about the leagel side of things , just wanted to know about the extra rubber on the tread section. ;)

The extra depth is possibly not as important as the square edge you get by trimming the lugs, in mud any way.

Just remember that less rubber in the tread area only makes it easier to puncture...

i remember hearing that simex jt2's were able to be re-grooved a little cause there's so much rubber in em. anyone else heard this?

i saw a set of swampers at the trails with this done, cant remember the rig they were on though. Anyone?

I didn't see it but one of my mates was telling me about it. We had just been talking about re-grooving/siping tyres the night before.

The cruiser tray in both major mags at the moment has extra grooves cut in his rear 44 boggers, not sure about the front.
