G`day there.

G`day there.
G`day all, I thought it was about time I registered here and joined in, I`ve been lurking for quite a while but never got around to taking the plunge.
I`ve been living over in the Uk on and off for the last 10 odd years, and collected a ex Camel Trophy 110, which has been on the 91 event in Tanzania/Burrundi, 92 in Guyana and 93 in Malaysia, so its a wee bit beat up and a bit worse for wear, but has laods of character and history, not to mention rust either.
Our plan is to drive it back to OZ overland in the next couple of years when we decide to return home for good.
All the best

Grub where are you living mate?
As for photo`s I hav`nt got many, we`ve just joined the digital era and hav`nt taken any pictures of the Camel yet, but I`ve found a few that other people heve sent us.
The day we sold our old 110, after buying the Camel.
The misses and I.

Bloody hell, there goes the neighbourhood. Looks like this is fast becoming an LRE refugee board.
Col, it looks like somethings duff in the code you posted linking to the image.
This is linked from imagecave
and this
Did you just cut and paste the link they generate there (Image Cave) sitting in a little box beside the thumbnails ?
Makes things a lot easier.
cheers,
Rick.

Welcome aboard Cols110, and good luck with the trip. I am still waiting to read about a successfull overland expedition by LandRover from anywhere to anywhere that does not involve numerous mechanical breakdowns culminating in a full transmission rebuild at the bottom of a sand dune in the Sahara or some other god forsaken part of the planet.
Bill.

Bill, do you have a crystal ball or something ??
Ask Col about removing/rebuilding a transfer case in a caravan park in Spain recently........
Rick.

OK, that worked a bit better, sorry about the large file on the last one, it was`nt that big in image cave but it is now, oh well.
Yep there certainly are a lot of familiar faces in here, howd`y all.
Yes, gearboxes in strange places, I can relate to. We went for a blast down to Spain a couple of months ago, and a bearing in out T/box let go, luckily only a couple of Ks from a campsite. I ripped the box out, started stripping it down within reason with limited tools, and decided with the lack a local LR dealer, and being stuck in an area where limited English was spoken, we decided to get Ashcrofts to ship us an exchange box, after a few shipping drama`s we were on our way again, luckily it happened where it did, not in the Pyranee`s where we were headed the next day for some offroading. But now we have a new LT77/230 and clutch, so hopefully we should right oin the gearbox front for a while anyway.
Next trip is to Poland, Cheq Republic, next May, then down to Morocco next October, so hopefully these trips will be a bit more drama free.
