panel work to troopy

Post by rockcrawler31 »

righty oh then.

the 75 ser troopy has rust in the usual spots, around the windscreen and in turret near the gutter. seeing as toyota didn't see fit to give me bolt off panels a la cab chassis trucks (f*&kng stoopid toyo designers) this could be a right pain in the arse.

firstly, if someone has fixed this before, how hard was the job and how much did it set them back.

secondly, if i'm gonna spunk several grand on rust repairs i might be interested in turning it into a convertible behind the B pillars and level with just below the rear windows. I reckon if you had a FRP top made up or converted the bit you chopped off you could rig it to be taken on and off for a lower center of gravity off road or back on for touring. sorta like the 4 runners.

any comments? silly question i suppose, you've all got something to say usually. any serious comments? any one interested in doing the work cash in hand and teach me some body work skills at the same time?
