1984 sierra wont idle just put in carb kit made no difference also backfires through exhaust i am shagged anybody got a idea ? :bad-words: :cry:

Hurrrmmmmmmm cleaned out ur dizzy? Might have water in it. Checked ur timing and plugs and leads. Leads in the right the right firing order?

did ya clean out ya petrol tank, change filters etc... may have put dirt back thru ya new carb...also sometimes as the fuel pump gets old, it can gum up the carby with bits from its diaphragm, so an extra filter betwwen pump and carby is wise....but yes you need to check fer other causes, too...a small hole in the exhaust, leaky exhaust/inlet gaskets maybe? may be time for a pro tune up, as others have suggested, good luck with it all, christover

yeah mine backfires regularly too, scares the hell out of pedestrians, my mates and other drivers, I'm beginning to get quite attached to it :lol:
