Extractors were on. muffler was not. Muffler is bolted up now so that i keep the neighbours happy.
Rear tailshaft turns up this at the end of this week so hopefully it'll be moving under its own power next week.

Dude that cage is looking so sweet! I love the flat bar down the side of the dash, first sore that method on some of the poison spider rigs. The bends really suit the body. Great stuff guys

i'm not quite sure how i'm going to finish off the rear. the rear bars for the cage will come straight down to the bare chassis. I'm going to have to put some sort of tubed rear on it. I'm open to any ideas people are willing to put up, so post away any photos you have of the tubed rears of zooks.

the diff now has been adapted to take dana side gears, so the axles are a stock item. i have no locking hubs, just an adapter, ie allways locked.
I'm sure sam will chime in at some stage with the exact specs of the front assembley for those that are interested as i'm still a little unsure, and i'd hate to get the specs wrong.

hubs are allways locked. old school just like the old landy's and others, allways ready to go.

yeah the axles are completly stock as i was told. the centre has dana side gears in it so that the axle doesn't have to be resplined. the always locked hub means that there is no resplining at the outer end either. if the axle was to go into a zook manual locking hub it would have to be resplined so that it would fit.

i basically at this point. so i can go many different directions. i was going to run the rear bars straight to the chassis and the tube the back in latter. i figured that this way i would have a strong cage and then i could bo whatever with the back and not have to worry too much about the safety factor. but with the rea bars going straight down the the end of the chassis i'm starting to run out of room. opinions?

Well at the moment I have decided on doing the following. Run the rear bars straight down to the chassis. Then run a smaller bar, starting from the targa bar style line across to the ends of the chassis so that it looks like a tube dove tail. I then plan to cut the original panel competition style. Then pull it across to the bar work and weld on with tabs.
This idea was taken from matt and Micks rigs from M&M engineering and last years UA Toyota

yeah i've got the 4wd monthly's with both of those rigs i really like micks rig. if you've got anymore photos of the rigs that'd be good.
Do you think you could measure the distance from the dash to the top of the cage. Just out of interest so that I have a rough gauge to go from.

i'll measure tonight. it has been built to allow me to still run, the windscreen, the targa bar, full doors and a bikini top. so the cage itself is quiet low, if you were tall it'd be fairly tight (but i'm a short arse). the ablitity to put the doors and stuff back on is important to me as i'm in the mountains and the winter wheeling will invole snow and rain.
i think the tube is 1 3/4 inch.
