where is the rust? how big are the holes?
if they are only small get some rust eater/dissolver bunnings sell a really good one it is in a clearish bottle with a yellow sticker, wire brush the hell out of the area then apply some of the stuff , and just keep doing it until the rust is gone and then just bog it up.
if they are big holes cut out the area and get some one to weld in a piece and then bog it up
or just add bog, use the fibre rienforced stuff that stuff is pretty tuff

Rust,
you strip the paint,
power sand/grind the rust off,
Rust kill it with a rust killer
Bog it up,
sand it back
Spary primer filler
Sand that back
Spray top colour.
Done.

G'day,
Rust is annoying.
Where about in your truck is it? is it structual ?
If it's only minor (Small holes), just sand the area, get the worst of it out, hit around it with a screwdriver or similar and make sure all the useless flakey rust is gone and rust convert the strong section left. then you can bog it up, I suggest you pump some fish oil in before you bog to stop any other rusting around this area.
If it's major rust it's time for some cutting, cut the section out and weld in a new piece of steel, grind it back and then paint it.
In my new truck I am building up i have fish oiled inside the chassis, also got the firewall sandblasted and fish oiled the inside of it. I am getting my door frames galvanised and door tops will be fish oiled.

Don't be shy about using old newspapers/boxes as backing with some fihing line to get those "hard Lines"....
I used to buya $200 bomb every 6 months and spent about $60 on bog/paintjob..... Gotta love driving for 4 years withoput paying a single rego bill....
Otheriwse I'd stillreccomend teh metalmend - its way better than anything else - just use rio on top and finish with bog - its laced with stainless steel and is a structural maker. Awesoem gear on old Kingswood/Falcons/Toranas....
