Body changes

Post by morkz »

Hi all

I'm a nissan owner but i picked up a cheap 83-84 Hilux i swear its more 84 as the shape is like but on the papers it says 83 ....

My questions is can i put a late model body on i.e. 90 onwards? Were planning on stripping the car and changing the tub to a tray.

its for my g/f cousin so i want to help out as much as possible

Morkz,

I had a mate that had a lux, I think it was an 84 but not sure. Definitely not anything later than that, so would've been 80-84. He done a straight body swap for a 94 shell with no real dramas. Was a single cab with tray back. Think the only prob was on the tray, one pair of mounts didn't line up.... and maybe some wiring differences, as he put a diesel cab onto a petrol chassis, so had to get the glow relays altered etc.
This is only from memory though, about 18 months ago.
Hope that was of help. ;)
When in doubt..... UTE-ERIZE it!!!
