as stated by the other guys
Tough Tracks 4x4 club is just a club for fourwheel drivers interested in competitions [driving or watching] and driving hard tracks, the club was going to be started independantly of whether it was going to run any events or not but the first idea of it was started by glen of the ASCC.

Glen had stated that he did not want to run the ASCC anymore and asked us if we wanted to run it for him.

When we looked closely at the ASCC we told glen we didn't want to take it over as we believed it needed changing but change was not allowed to happen, it was pretty obvious that it would likely get cancelled so we then decided to come up with our own event to give us a comp to drive in.

The terrain is similar and the specs have been modified to allow previous competitors to be eligable but that is the only thing in common.

the events hosted by Tough Tracks 4x4 Club are in no way connected with ASCC

We have had very little contact with glen so if you want to know any more you will have to contact him directly but ... lack of contact is one reason we gave up on the ASCC.

Just to make it clear - The steering comittee at present is setting up and running the "Tough Tracks 4x4 Club".

"Tough Tracks 4x4 Club" has no issues personal or professional with Glen and wish Glen all the best.

The first is at Black Duck, second at Cruiser Park, third to be arranged but will most likely be south of Brisbane..

Any of the townsville crew know what the implications are for up here?

Will Black River run their own comp, ASCC, or a comp in conjunction with tuff tracks?

Black River 4wd club is in the process of sorting next year out at the moment. The management commitee will have a meeting end of Jan to nut it all out. I'm sure a post will go on here soon as they have it sorted...Rest asured there will be some sort of comp.

Next meeting of the Black river 4wd club will be held at 7:00pm on Tue 15 feb 05 at the Thuringowa council chambers. New members are welcome. The club has similar views to the Tough Tracks club whereas although we still go on trips we like to spice things up a little bit. We also have some great guys with a lot of experience competing like Matt Bolger and Luke (hoonz) to squeeze for info on pretty much anything. The club is always evolving and is always open to new people and new ideas.. :D
