XRCC Round 1

Post by XTREME MMM »

:) :) :)

Round 1 will be held at Emu Creek 26th - 27th February.

Classes:- Modtruck and Outlaw and if there is any interest Registered Street (up to 35" tyres, measured).

All must have Harness and either internal or external roll bars. Buggies and open top vehicles must have as usual full cages with a minimum 3mm alloy top or 1.6mm steel top.

Spotters must wear helmets, gloves and shoes.

Rules will be the KISS Rules:-

Time set course
2 points for reverse
10 points for cone
5 points for rock stacking
20 points winching plus any penalties as per XWC rules
You will point out at 30 points
Each gate you have passed (rear wheels) will give you a 2 point bonus.
Team with the less points wins.

EG:- If you completed the Course with 10 gates and have got 20 penalty points you will receive 20 points for the Course less the 20 points in penalties which would give you a score of 0 points.
If the next competitor points out at the 9th gate he/she will get 18 points for passing the gates which would leave a total of 12 points for that course
This scoring will keep everything very close.

All questions direct to me at xtremedcm@bigpond.com

Whos in. Entry fee $165. Entry forms on www.xtreme4x4sport.com.au or give me a call and I will send them out.

I will enter under one condition.

You get rid of that damn music on your site. You cant do anything with it. Its too loud and its bloody annoying. I have tried to look at it a dozen times and close the site as soon as the music starts. I imagine a lot of others are also closing as soon as it starts.

Anyway me and Wes will also be there. I have never been to EMU Creek so will be interesting to see what the terrain is like.

Sorry Dave im not going to be able to make this round. Ive got some issues i need to sort out on my Buggy and im just not going to have time to get them sorted before this round. Im sorry to say this also means that the Lockless wont be able to make it either(Sorry Tom and Linc). Sam is tied up this same weekend with a Horse event and as Tom and Linc dont know enough about how everything works in the Lockless(Mainly Traction Control) if anything was to go wrong with it there would be no-one there that could sort the problems for them.

Goodluck to the guys that are going to make this round. And get heaps of pics and Video.

Mr Metcalfe,

can you give a rundown of what you are doing this year to improve the spectator experience???
my biggest gripe last year was it's always such a mission to find the bloody compsite... the culmination of it for me was final round of xrcc last year where about 20 vehicles (including the caterers!!!!) were parked right where the compsite was supposed to be (as marked by park staff) only to find out after missing the first 30 minutes or so of the comp that the compsite was another couple of kilometres away (and a lot of people had to walk the last kilometre or so because the access track was too nasty for most standardish vehicles.)
and some of the stages weren't exactly spectator friendly (remember 1madengineer fighting for position on a rock face with about 30 spectators)

following events such as puosu and botc (and no doubt the upcoming WE Rock) the bar has definitely been raised. i'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but the reality is - there's a lot more rock crawling action this year than just xrcc. with fuel and park entry, etc it's $100+ to attend as a spectator so people wanna know what to expect....

and as you've acknowledged yourself - this is australias most popular rock crawling forum, so what better place to annouce all the good stuff you've prepared over the break?

I agree mate the bar has definately been raised all round (spectator etc) by PUOSU, BOTC, etc.

Tony not to worry mate these things happen and yes mate if lockless was to shit it's traction control................well I could tell you more about the molecular make up of an atom bomb than I could about the traction setup on that thing.
