freewheeling hubs ?
freewheeling hubs ?
can i put the free wheeling hubs off an older vitara onto my 99 grand vitara? if so how hard is it to do ?
First question: Dunno. But the later vitaras have a vacuum driven engagement system anyway so in effect whatever the hub says will be not necessarily have any relationship with what the diff decides to do.
Dont know enough about it to explain in detail - some of the guys off NBS would know if you want further info.
Stepping to an earlier vitara centres would fix this issue (and can also compensate for larger tyres), however you're looking at a lot of work and $$$ for minimal benefit.
If the parts are compatible (dont know anyone who's done it on that late a model) then the swap in itself would be pretty easy. Taking hubs on and off is a pretty quick job.
