had a VP ss EFI V8 fitted recently to my GQ and im having a few wiring dramas
i cant get the speedo or tacho to work.. im using the marks kit
the speedo has worked once... and wasnt accurate ie: was cruising on freeway and it slowly came up to around 60 for a few minutes then went back down to the 0 mark and hasnt moved since
the tacho doesnt work at all except on start up.. when i start it the tacho comes up to bout 800rpm but once the engines fired up it goes back down to 0 and stays there.......... any ideas????

GQ speedo and tacho

For your Speedo: Check the wiring loom which attaches to the sender on the back of the transfer case. There is a connector on top of the transmission at the front which may be damaged/not making proper connection or melted. This wiring loom then goesup behind the right hand side of the engine.
I'm only familiar with the TD42 tacho, but check that the multi-pin connector on the back of the instrument panel PCB board is in properly and that the screws that hold the speedo and tacho to the pc board are tight as these supply power to these 2 units

you should have a adapter in your transfer case so your oringinal speed senser is there and then there is another speed sensor on top of this that goes back to the commodore ecu your tacho should work look on the wiring manual of the nissan gregory's work shop one wire you connect to the coil
