Dual transfercases

Post by Gilli Pie »

Hey does anyone have two transfercases in their car. I've got two and i wanna put them both in. How do you get them in, how much will it cost and is their any kits out there. I have to be able to convince me dad to put it in. He's helping me fix and build my first car.

I have an dual adaptor from Marks 4wd (advance adaptors) sitting in the shed that will be going in my lux some time in the new year.
There are heaps of people on this board who have done it.

are there do these kits use one transfer case or 2? also do any of them come with correct length drive shafts or is this a custom job that needs to be done after.

Use 1 and a 1/2 transfers.
Uses the front half of your existing case and a complete second case bolted behind that with the adaptor.
Tailshafts need to be custom as does floor pan hole + boot and crossmember needs modifying/replacing too.

Thanks for that, but do you reckon it's possible to just use the front half of the second transfercase or do i have to go get a kit. Because one one of those sites says they're doing just that, the advance adapters.

You'll need the kit if ya not a VERY good engineer who can build his own. There is an addaptor shaft to go between the two t/cases.

you def need the adapter kit and you need a topshifting case off a 4speed gear box for the rear case.

ends up looking like this
