Ladders to get to roof of 4WD
Just asking if anyone has a solution to getting a small ladder to more easily get to the roofrack on a lifted 4WD. I have a SWB GQ and have seen ladders on some of the import cars, like vans, and was wondering where to source ladders like this.
Or has someone come up with an alternative?
I would like something light if possible.
Any takers?

Get one made? Wreckers? TJM? ARB? Bunnings?
I think I will look for a lightweight ladder which I can store on the roofrack which I can hang when needed, when the rear doors are opened and closed. Something like those used with the rooftop tents.
I think I will have a look in the boat shops or look at modifying something from bunnings.
I would like to be able to get onto of the rack for watching 4WD events at places like Landcruiser Park, Qld Raceway, etc - great view!
Maybe even bung a swag on top and sleep on it. Have to worry about falling off, dont think I sleepwalk!

Just for gain access to the roof rack I just stand on the tyres for accessing side stuff. But if you want to climb up there. You could just stand on the tyre (I have a tyre carrier - so overloading doors not a problem). This is how a gain'd access to the roof rack, when sitting up there for a couple of kays when crossing the Simpson.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
I want to hang it off the Rhino rack with hooks so I can move it around the car. When not in use I want to stow it on the rack or on the wheel carrier, which has a high-lift jack mounting which I am not using.
Had a look at bunnings yesterday - nothing suitable.
Will check out the wreckers/boat shops/tent places tomorrow.

Perhaps have something built to order? Xterra owner here in the USA had a shop build this bumper/tire-carrier/ladder for him, VERY nice:
Not sure what it cost, I think it was maybe $800-900 US, but I could be way off.

In search of an MQ (offset) H233b rear, housing only preferred, plus a complete GQ or GU front (4.6 ratio ideal) to be shipped to the US. Cheap! Email/PM if you can help.
Hi Grazza
I tryed the local wreckers link but no replies. However I was down at one this morning and found one from the back door of a LJ78,LWb Bundy.
It is in good nick.It is 30mm taller than the patrol door so you would need to mod it slightly. It clips under the door lip and then you bolt on top clamps to retain it to the top lip.
It is light so I don't know about freight but $20 would buy it.
