She wants to come too....boohoo

Post by Mechman »

Ok, im having too much fun in the shorty.. looks like it might have to go so that the handbrake and kids can come too.

looking at either a GQ patrol or an older 80 serries Cruz.
thinking 4.2, deisel.... any extras are a bonus.

would be interested in your thoughts for pros and cons for either.
Not looking to start a war or anything.. just can call it myself.

cheers guys!

the main thing to look at for most people is

Price verses comfort.

If you buy purely on price then a GQ, if you want more comfort then its a 80 series hands down.

go the GQ. they're generally cheaper with lower k's and if you get an ST spec with rear swaybar disconnect and factory difflock you're halfway there with extras. heaps of room for kids as 7 seater avail if you've got that many :).

i like the look of the 80 series but when it came time to lay out the readies the GQ couldn't be beaten for the money.

your call good luck.

I dont want to sell the 40 really.. but needs must i guess.
The Patrols are looking to be the go due to cost. i have also wondered about the drive line having seen a few 80's bust thier CV's, but having said that the 80's where doing things the partols wernt... and where fully locked.
How do spare prices compare?
