Spare tyre mounting on a tray back
Ive just got myself bigger tyres and done up the tray, but at the moment my spare is sitting on the flat bed with a tie down. Now obviously thats not too secure so i was wondering what are the solutions? I have a tool box that goes right across the tray but im thinking of ditching it and get a smaller one and mount the tyre against the tray back behind the driver side and have the tool box on the passenger side. Was thinking of using chain and a padlock to secure it. Also was thinking maybe one of those mounts you see on the back doors of wagons and use the secure nut, could mount this to the tray somehow im sure.
Any ideas/pics/plans would be greatly appreciated!

I think most of them do a Fuge nut weled onto the tray, a Fuge matching bolt through a plate onto centre of wheel with a brace of sorts welded on for quick undoing. Having a bolt head the same size as your wheel nut and not doing the brace would mean easy to get off when YOU wanted it off and not some thieving *&^%$.
I had a setup like this on my lux that worked well.

hey drop bear this is what i was telling you about instead of cutting the tray around the tyre like you see in the photo you could build the tray 50mm higher so the tray will cover the tyre then you have that little bit more room on the tray to carry crap
