Range Rover Ute

Post by MKPatrolGuy »

A mate of mine is going to look at a Rangie Ute, it's a mid '80s ish model with a 4.4L V8, not sure it man or auto, cut down into a style side ute.

It's all engineered and the bloke is asking $7400, is this a reasonable price or should he not bother?

TIA

I dunno what else it has, i'll have to ask him. He's currently got a IFS 4Runner and is sick of it and looking for something better off road...

Just remembered the only other thing he told me is it's dual fuel...

Sounds a bit on the high side, since it would be a 2dr (which sell for a lot less than a 4dr).

A mate recently sold an 84 2dr RR in PC for 5400, It had a rear Maxi Drive as well.

If it is in really good nick and has some other extras a couple of grand lower would be OK.

Guys - a close mate of mine has just started doing Rangie chops.

He had a 4dr that was at Wandin on the test track - Its now a styleside ute and he's used all orginal panels. If anyone wants the work done - no paint - just the chop and welding - contact me - he's asking $1500 per job - Drop it off Friday night - get it back Sunday.... :D

Also did a chop on a 77 Suzuki teh other night - look s mad boys - getting Vitara diffs, 34" Simex's and some serious tube..... :P

Cheers all.

Paul.

PS _ I'm converting to a rangie soon..... I must be mad!!!!

I must be moose.... :finger: :finger:

But then again - Nissan driveline + rangie go gear = cheaper to bend/repair than my fat arsed 80.......

Bleeping $$$$loads just to get some panel work done....
There are some things that just aren't worth $$$ each month!!!

So.... :finger: to u too!!!

Although If I could find me a $30 Zuki I'd be chuffed....

Im sure that you will need an engineers report to be 100% legal but should be fairly easy to get one if the job looks professional. Probably the main concern would be roll over protaction (may need a cross brace in the rear wall) but this really depends on the engineer.

PIPELINE..... trying to get pics now!!

okay - the rangie ben machine is completed less paintjob.

here's the gaff.

New reco'd 3.9 installed, chopped, caged and padded.

It is a beast to be in especially on Simex's and it looks soooooooo tough.
He has a price for the conversion. Chopped, caged, ready to paint @$2K depending on how you want it done. cages are so tight and perfect you can get original roof lining in snug as a bug. cages made by very reputable place(the bloke is competing in the outback challenge) - whole car in/out Frdiay to Sunday. 4 doors perferably....

So - he wont let me get pics until he's painted the new bonnet ( :( ) so I hope to grab some spy pics really soon! Anyone want one? PM me and I'll pass on the number for him.

Hope this appeases those who want something SICK MATE!!! :o :finger:

What do you mean? We've had plenty of cars engineered with roll cages welded in.
